Hi Ruth,

Thank you for your inspirational site.   Our Lab/Hound mix has just been diagnosed with mestatised (sp?)OS.   Two vets have no hope.   Did you try any of the products such as K9 Immunity?   I figure we have nothing to lose.

Thanx

Dearest Ruth,

One year ago today, your wonderful Bracken met all the rest at the Bridge.   My Rigsby was up front ready to greet this Great Inspiration, very much wanting to personally thank Bracken for all she did and continues to do on behalf of our Bone Cancer Dogs.   We miss your Bracken, (Elly and Ebony, too) and know there's a grand party celebrating her Rebirthday today.   We are sharing in this special day with a few tears and cheers, definitely raising a glass in Bracken's honor tonight!   We think of you often Ruth and join you in heart with our fond memories of one of the best cancer fighters we were ever privileged to know -- your loving Bracken.

Comfort, strength, and many hugs to you,

Janine and her Winged R3

I really enjoyed your webpage. What a testimony Bracken is to "hope" when there seems to be none. We hope to have our Heidi for several more years, but probably not the 7 extra years you had Bracken.
Love,
Karla and Heidi, the rottie who is cancer free as of right now

Bracken's story is a gentle reminder to us all about fighting for what we love, and never giving up!
I am so inspired ... Bracken represents all that is hopeful and sweet in this world ~ I can only hope that my Skye has as much a Warrior Spirit as beloved Bracken!

Just a quick note to say thank you for such a wonderful site.   My dog Dylan has severe osteoarthritis in his front leg. He is only three and a half and we are faced with the choice of either total elbow replacement or amputation.   We are reluctant to go with the TER as the results are not terrific and the chance of complications during and after the operation are of great concern to us.   It was truly inspirational to read your account of Bracken's amputation - it has certainly given us food for thought and calmed a lot of the fears we have.   Thank you again and good luck with Darcy.

I came to Bracken's website after your most helpful information on Yahoo.   I am so sorry for your loss.   Not only were you a wonderful family to Bracken but it looks like Bracken can teach all of us a lot about living life and the hands we may be dealt.   God speed Bracken-your body is now whole- if you see Coda will you tell her we all love her very much.   What a wonderful monument to such a magnificent animal.

Dear Angel Bracken:   God bless you, sweet girl.   I know that you have been welcomed with the greatest love of all.   You were certainly loved beyond description while you walked this Earth.   Please watch over your Mum, as she is (as you know) extraordinary.   I know that her heart is broken, but she has shown a huge capacity for love and I have no doubt that your sweet spirit and love will guide her to love again.   What an inspiration you are, sweet Angel Bracken.   Run free with Angels Ebony and Elli.   If you should happen to encounter a beautiful black and white Lhasa Apso named Max, please give him a big kiss from me.   Thank you for gracing our planet, beautiful Bracken.

Braken,
What a trooper you are! Thanks for sharing your story with me, Ginger. I live in Portland, Oregon and have had something removed from me too, though no one can see it. I don't have a spleen anymore because it had a mass that ruptured. My mom takes good care of me and even though the docs said I wouldn't be around more than 60 days we're proving them wrong. That was more than 5 months ago. Ask my mom what she gives me. I can't pronounce it but I know it works.
Love,
Ginger

Thank you for taking the time to do this great site, my 2 year old (nearly!) boxer is booked in, in two days to have his right hind leg removed.   Your site has helped alot, im sure it wont stop the tears and heart ache at watching your baby in pain but it helps to be prepared for the bad bits afterwards on the road to a "fingers crossed" recovery.   THANK YOU x Sally

Thanks for your website.   We just learned three days ago that our 8 year old Lab, Sierra, has OS.   She is scheduled for surgery this week.   Our entire family is scared, but Brackens story gives us hope.

Oct 18 2006 10:25 am
Our 5 yr old lab mix was just diagnosed with osteosarcoma this morning.   The life expectancies that surgeon gave, even after amputation and chemo, are quite a shock.   I am so relieved to see that those are just averages, and there is some hope that, after putting him through so much, he may have several years left with us.

Thanks so much for your inspiration Bracken!   My 7 yr old Bernese Mtn Dog, Foster, was diagnosed with OS 2 weeks ago and is 1 week past amputation with 1 week to go before chemo.   We have some ups and downs but he is moving around quite well with 3 legs (left front amputation), but isn't loving all of the different drugs -- so we are stopping the pain killers for a while.   Hopefully his energy will start to improve.   I am looking so forward to every day that I have with him and hope that we get to enjoy as much time as you and Bracken - boy would that be a miracle!   Bracken is truly incredible - keep up the great work and spirit.   Thanks for a great site.

Bracken's story gives me so much hope.   My 8 year old Ilya was diagnosed in early May with OS in his front left leg, but his lungs were clear.   He had the amputation and immediately started on Chemo.   We have finished those 5 rounds and xray still clear.   He'll go back at the end of September for another xray.   He's doing great.   Just got back from vacation on Lake Michigan where he loved dipping his feet in and hanging out on the beach with his 2 Golden Retriever 'sisters'.   I'm hoping for a miracle like Bracken's but just enjoy every day with 'da boy knowing that he isn't in pain and is enjoying life.

I lost my dog to OS in April.   It still hurts but it helps to read Bracken's story!   I'm so glad to know of a dog doing so well 6 years post dx.   Thanks and way to go!

Bracken is truely a miracle dog.   It is nice to hear a success story with this type of Cancer.   I am so happy for you, Bracken and your Family. Bracken keep on fighting and doing what your doing.   It gives some of us hope to know that anything is possable.
My Amber passed away from Bone Cancer 3/15/04.   She was not so lucky as Bracken as it had already spread to her lungs. I too wrote a story about her here on this site "Amber's Story". I was going to do the aputation, but that option quickly became unavailable to us.
Sorry to hear about Ebony.   It is hard to loose a beloved Furkid. My Prayers go out to you all.
Thank you for sharing your story with us.
